Hybrid is the 4 designated Blackwater Valley Explorer Scouts Units. We are based in the Harpers road scout hut, just next to the Lion Brewery and recreation ground. We are one of the three original Blackwater Valley Explorer Scouts units since the national creation of the explorer section back in 2002.

We meet mainly on fridays from 19:30 - 21:30 to make moving on from other Blackwater Valley Scout groups as simple as possible. We also hold with regular lightweight weekend camps incorporating hikes and other activities. We actively encourage the use of bivi bags, and hammocks rather than tents.

Our program is outdoor focused, and we make the most of our huts secure outdoor camping space giving the best scouting experience at a low cost for our explorer scouts. Other activities include climbing, shooting, go-karting, paintball, canoeing and much much more.

We will teach you valuable skills like fire lighting, survival skills, knife and axe skills and help you through the Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Scout awards with other explorer scouts in the Blackwater Valley District.
